As a Product Owner, you will be a senior member of the Product team at LDMS, responsible for organising, prioritising and refining work for our agile engineering teams. You will assist in creating, defining and delivering the product strategy, gather feature requests and coordinate the team's sprint cycles, ensuring quality and clarity of items and stories. To be successful in this role, you will be able to identify and understand customer needs and communicate these clearly to the cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product releases. Ultimately, you will be pivotal in rolling out products that deliver on our company vision.
You’ll be responsible for clearly communicating this vision and gathering requirements to and from a variety of stakeholders ensuring that they are aligned with the business objectives and the product Roadmap. Support other members of the Product team and contribute to an effective product function. From time to time, the key responsibilities may change or be adapted to the needs of the business, however, the below gives an overview of the key areas of focus:
- Working closely with our stakeholders and customers to understand business needs and translate into requirements.
- Incorporate feature requests into the Product backlog and Roadmap.
- Constantly groom and prioritise the product backlog in line with company objectives.
- Develop clear, understandable user stories and define easily understandable acceptance criteria.
- Work with our in-house UX designer to construct high-fidelity prototypes and present to stakeholders for feedback.
- Gain agreement and understanding from the team and set sprint goals.
- Plan releases and upgrades in collaboration with the Release Manager.
- Analyse requirements and the needs of the end users.
- Keep track of industry developments and trends.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential:
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner within the Financial sector.
- Intimate knowledge of the administration/servicing of a Loan agreement.
- Previous experience as a Product Owner, or similar role in software delivery with hands-on experience of managing aspects of the product life-cycle (i.e. Business Analyst, Scrum Master).
- Natural problem solver, with ability to define a MVP and strike a balance between strategic and tactical delivery.
- Proven experience in effectively communicating stories, epics and initiatives to engineering teams under a scrum methodology and use of supporting platforms (JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Positive team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Be able to compare and contrast existing and competitor solutions to maximise relevant outcomes.
- Experience in analysing data and customer issues to draw business-relevant conclusions.
- Technical background/understanding with experience of software such as Postman, Database IDEs (Dbeaver, SQL Server, sql developer).
