Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management, leading multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience in supply chain logistics and transportation for managing compliant international shipments.
  • Experience in managing and delivering trade compliance projects across the EMEA region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional certification in import, export or customs brokerage.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, both domestic and international.
  • Familiarity with EU/EMEA import and export regulations, VAT/excise, HTS classification, customs valuation, consumer hardware certification and global logistics.
  • Familiarity with service providers and managing shipping operations in the UK and rest of Europe.
  • Understanding of the customs, import, and export regulations to ensure legal compliance.
  • Ability to grow in a fast-paced business environment with frequent and rapid priority changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on customs, import and export regulations applicable to Google’s retail operations and strategic projects in EMEA.
  • Manage day-to-day import/export activities including frequent interaction with customs brokers, transportation providers and distribution centers to resolve any customs clearance issues.
  • Develop and execute defined procedures and oversight programs with key retail partners (distribution centers and service providers) to streamline international shipping.
  • Perform internal customs audits and conduct internal reviews of our trade and logistics practices, including on-site reviews on Third-Party Logistics (3PLs) and customs brokers to ensure adherence with policies and service level agreements.
  • Assist with a number of global and regional trade compliance programs and initiatives, including development of policies, workflows, automation, training and compliance toolkits.
