This is a pivotal moment to join the Roundhouse as we continue to grow and evolve, leading the way as a dynamic arts and performance venue. Reporting to the CEO, Marcus Davey, as Director of Operations and Estate, you will be at the heart of the organisation and instrumental in its growth and direction. With the opportunity to shape and deliver our vision, you will ensure the smooth running of the venue and operations, support our mission to nurture the next generation of artists and audiences, and uphold a culture that embraces fresh thinking and welcomes all.
The Roundhouse has long been a beacon of creativity, providing a space where young people and emerging artists connect with audiences through world-class performances and transformative experiences. We have a rich history of providing a platform for emerging talent, from supporting young musicians in the Radio 1 Big Weekend, to nurturing the next generation of theatre makers and creatives through our youth-led projects. We work with over 10,000 young people each year through these creative programmes and are on a path to double this by 2026. Over the years, we’ve become an integral part of the cultural landscape, offering diverse performances, events, and community-driven initiatives that celebrate creativity and inclusivity. Your leadership will help us build on our legacy of inspiring and supporting the voices of the future.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our iconic building, managing everything from facilities and health and safety to ensuring the space meets the evolving needs of our artists, performers, and visitors. You’ll lead a talented team and collaborate with senior management to create operational strategies that support the Roundhouse’s long-term goals, while maintaining its reputation for excellence.
If you are an advocate by nature, foster a strong team culture, value visible leadership, and bring a blend of credibility and fresh thinking, we’d love to hear from you. You will exhibit agility in your leadership, balancing the diverse demands of operations while ensuring the venue remains a world-class destination for creativity and performance. As Director of Operations and Estate, you’ll contribute to the broader vision for the organisation’s growth, working across departments to create a sustainable and welcoming environment for everyone at the Roundhouse. With environmental sustainability as a key focus for our next phase, you will bring a natural affinity for this and drive that culture throughout the organisation.
The Roundhouse is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We value all contributions and are seeking a leader who is passionate about our mission, adaptable in style, self-aware, experienced in managing complex operations and estates, and ready to bring fresh thinking to our ambitious plans.
If you are excited about the opportunity to make a lasting impact, lead a dedicated team at a time of growth, and thrive in a transparent and driven culture, we’d love to talk further.
