The Director of Safety is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, claims management, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and corporate procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Championing a strong safety and compliance culture through effective programs.
- Designing, directing, and conducting training and audits on various Safety Manuals and SOPs.
- Representing Airgas in regional regulatory issues and inspections.
- Leading the Incident Review Committee.
- Analyzing risk data, evaluating initiatives, and developing mitigation plans.
- Collaborating with Training to develop impactful safety training programs.
- Conducting accident investigations and managing claims with insurance partners.
- Partnering with Senior Management on safety & compliance during acquisitions and integrations.
- Working with Human Resources on EHS and Risk Management issues.
- Empowering managers and employees to lead safety efforts.
- Participating in the Airgas Emergency Response Team.
- Leading offsite customer safety training and handling special projects.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of safety experience in production/distribution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Pay Rate: $130,000 - $140,000 + Bonus
