Join us as we empower tomorrow’s world at work. About The Opportunity WeWork is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our Global Accounting Team. This role will be integral in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our global accounting operations, with a focus on month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory accounting support across our global portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for driving process improvements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Global Month-End Close: Manage and oversee the global month-end close process, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy Coordinate with various accounting teams globally to gather and consolidate financial data, including Global Revenue, Global OPEX and Global Lease Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a broad understanding of these teams\’ processes and will provide essential support, including covering for staff absences, to maintain operational efficiency. Analyze and review financial statements, identifying and investigating variances. Global Balance Sheet Reconciliations Review: Establish and maintain a robust framework for global balance sheet reconciliations. Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, identifying and resolving reconciliation discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor and track open items, driving resolution and ensuring appropriate aging. Statutory Accounting Support (International Portfolio): Provide guidance and support to regional accounting teams on statutory accounting requirements and local GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) across WeWork\’s international portfolio. Assist in the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate statutory audits. Process Improvements and Projects: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve global accounting processes, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and controls. Lead or participate in global accounting projects, such as system implementations, process redesigns, and standardisation initiatives. Develop and document accounting policies and procedures. Ad Hoc Accounting Transactions: Provide support on ad hoc accounting transactions and projects, including but not limited to, new business initiatives, acquisitions, and other complex accounting matters that are expected to be confirmed over the coming year. Ensure that these transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
