An opportunity to join us in Leeds. The Role: As a Managing Director within our Leeds-based Restructuring & Insolvency team, you will play a key leadership role in delivering outstanding client service, supporting the development of our people, and contributing to the growth and performance of the practice. You will work collaboratively with fellow senior leaders across the service line and the wider firm to drive commercial success and operational efficiency.
This is a senior-level position for a proven professional with strong technical expertise in restructuring and insolvency, commercial acumen, and experience in managing complex engagements. You will be responsible for leading cases, building trusted client relationships, and helping to develop our next generation of talent.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and providing tailored, strategic advice. Advise clients on restructuring strategies, insolvency options, and approaches to mitigate financial distress. Act as a senior point of contact on key cases and contribute to business development and client retention.
- Technical and Market Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insolvency legislation, restructuring frameworks, and market trends. Provide expert guidance on complex matters such as debt restructuring, creditor negotiations, and corporate recovery. Ensure high standards of compliance and technical delivery across engagements. Lead and oversee complex restructuring and insolvency cases from planning through to resolution. Develop effective strategies that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Support, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture. Contribute to succession planning and the ongoing development of technical and leadership capabilities across the team.
- Commercial and Operational Contribution: Drive case profitability and ensure efficient use of resources and time. Contribute to process improvement, automation, and innovation initiatives to enhance delivery. Play an active role in wider firm initiatives and cross-practice collaboration.
