The individual in this position will handle business-critical compute workloads, real-time processing, data transfer services, application onboarding, upgrades, and recovery procedures. Our international team provides 24/7 support across four regions. Additional responsibilities include developing cost-effective support methods, working with Development Groups on application changes, onboarding new technologies, and disaster recovery planning.
Team Overview: The Service Management Operations Group monitors, supports, and administers production environments for all BlackRock businesses, acting as first responders for troubleshooting and escalation. We collaborate globally, manage a broad range of technologies, and aim to deliver excellent service through teamwork and innovation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure changes are fully completed and services restored.
- Identify process improvements for change implementation and weekend checkouts.
- Support and maintain the Aladdin infrastructure, ensuring high availability.
- Use analysis tools to diagnose system performance and improve operations.
- Communicate effectively during incident management.
- Engineer solutions for environment recovery post-maintenance.
- Utilize ServiceNow for incident and problem management.
- Work on rotational weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
- 1-2 years experience in Production Support.
- Understanding of Linux administration fundamentals.
- Experience with Incident and Problem management.
- System administration experience is a plus.
- Programming skills in Java, Python, Perl, or shell scripting.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Positive attitude and team spirit.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP.
Pluses:
- Interest in technologies like Ansible, Chef, AWX, ServiceNow, Autosys, Kafka, Kubernetes.
