With strong local communities, unspoilt countryside and vibrant coastal towns, East Sussex offers an exceptional quality of life to many. However, some of our residents face significant challenges, and rely on us and our partners to support them. Our One Council approach, prioritising the delivery of high-quality services in a tight fiscal environment, underpins everything we do, and we enjoy a strong reputation for good services, effective partnership working and innovation.

This role will play a key role in strengthening and developing our offer to the county’s adults and older people. We will look to you to help us develop innovative, long-term solutions to systemic challenges through technology and new ways of working. And because we are stronger and more effective when working together, you will have ample opportunity to work imaginatively and energetically with your colleagues across the Council as well as other statutory agencies and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors, to improve outcomes for adults.

You will bring proven negotiating and influencing skills, having effectively managed multi-agency projects in a similarly complex and rapidly changing environment. Whatever your background, you will have a keen interest in social care, health and third sector policy and practice, whilst the ability to quickly establish credible working relationships with our communities and our partners, will be critical to your success.
