The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is a member of the European Commercial organization and drives the growth of high-margin, “command center” products within the European region.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding customer needs for Command Centre solutions such as Retail systems (POS, BOS, HOS), OPT, Payment Platforms, FCC, and AS to drive sales with regional teams.
- Collaborating with sales, marketing, engineering, and other internal functions to define solutions and implement sales strategies.
- Ensuring order intake from target accounts and markets, supporting expansion into new territories.
- Establishing Gilbarco Veeder-Root as a credible retail solutions provider through tenders, strategic planning, and relationship building.
- Defining and validating customer solutions, maintaining relations, and preparing technical documentation.
- Driving commercial activities, including presentations, demos, and workshops, to develop business relationships and promote solutions.
- Gathering market intelligence and feedback to influence product development and market strategies.
