CK Group are recruiting for a Formulation Technical Readiness Lead, to join a global Consumer Healthcare company, who are based in Reading, on a contract basis for 12 months.
Company: Our client is a global consumer healthcare business with well-known household brands.
Location: The role is based in Reading.
Role:
- Act as an expert in all formulation and technology aspects across different forms (tablets, softgels, gummies, powders, liquids etc), ensuring technical rigour and compliance with internal and external EU and local regulations and requirements.
- Define learning plans with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to address complex formulation and technology questions including product/formula preparation (e.g. physical determinations, product performance, product stability, etc.).
- Ensure Technical Product Development readiness of projects supporting the Personal Health Care portfolio is delivered in line with agreed business timings.
- Provide technology and formulation advice to other functions within medicinal product development projects in Europe.
- Perform product feasibility assessment and technical activities from product development with CMs.
- Determine product development strategy (internal and external) including due diligence, risk assessment, and IP strategy.
- Design and execute sound learning plans to evaluate technology introduction into products to deliver breakthrough benefits or for cost innovation where applicable.
Your Background:
- Educated to degree level or above in Life science or a related field with proven experience in a similar formulation and technology role in consumer healthcare or a similar regulated industry.
- Previous experience of manufacturing and packaging processes within a regulated environment and knowledge of tablet, soft and hard gel capsule and oral liquid products is desirable.
- Strong project management skills: You will be responsible to ensure the readiness of the projects in line with timings and to the required standard.
- Proficient in applying scientific methods to build, execute and report technical learning plans initiatives i.e. Define the problem, gather data, form hypothesis, test hypothesis and report findings.
- Proficient in formulation and specification tools and systems.
