Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 per annum (Pro-rata)
Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months
Hours: Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5)
On call: Frequency 1:50 Category A – 3% on call supplement (Pro-rata)

We are currently recruiting to a Community Adult Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Parent Infant Perinatal Mental Health Service. The main team base is at Barley Court, Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford, Essex, IG3 8XJ. This post covers the London boroughs of Redbridge and Barking.
This is an established, fixed-term for 12 month, full-time post – 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5). This post will be vacant from February 2025 when the current postholder goes on maternity leave. We wish to recruit to this post as soon as possible.
Job description
Job responsibilities:
You will be expected to:
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adult people with mental health needs, across Redbridge and Barking.
- Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
- Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals.
- Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata).
- Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.
- Work alongside 2wte consultants, a 0.6wte Specialty Doctor, 0.2wte Senior Trainee and 1wte Core Trainee.
- Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.
