A global leader in property & real estate, serving diverse sectors including commercial, healthcare, and critical engineering, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Bias Engineering / Technical Services Manager. The role is based at their HQ in the City of London, managing HVAC and critical engineering services within a high-profile North American trading organization’s building, part of a multi-skilled engineering team alongside FM support.
Candidate Requirements
- Fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Air Conditioning, preferably through an apprenticeship in commercial building services.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience as an Engineering Manager in critical environments such as Banking, Data Centres, or demanding corporate HQs.
- Experience holding AP status for HVAC systems, including Water, Lifts, Pressure Systems, and High/Low Voltage AP training.
- Desirable: ILM, NEBOSH/IOSH, or other professional memberships.
Working Systems Knowledge
- Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, Pumps, Motors, BMS, Booster Sets, Pressurisation Units, Diesel Generators, Water Treatment, Cooling Towers, UPS, HV & LV Distribution, Water Chillers, VRV/VRFs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage all technical issues across the building.
- Ensure KPI and SLA compliance.
- Oversee H&S and environmental performance.
- Plan and execute building shutdowns and client project works.
- Manage quality procedures on-site.
- Recruitment and technical development of staff, including annual appraisals.
- Maintain client relationships and manage reports.
- Oversee permit systems.
