FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an international engineering business based in Renfrewshire. This is a permanent position, with a salary up to £65,000 plus, working 37.5 hours per week, early finish on Fridays, plus benefits such as private medical care and a contributory pension.
Responsibilities:
- Providing engineering design solutions and full life cycle engineering support
- Working with new product design, meeting client specifications and upgrades to existing equipment
- Creating bill of materials, sourcing suitable components and materials
- Preparing engineering documentation, such as specifications and proposals, reports
- Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
- Supervisory/management experience in coaching/mentoring a small team
- Design and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems with associated calculations
Skills and experience required for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer role:
- Proven electrical and electronics design skills
- Experience in design calculations and use of software tools such as CAD packages
- Knowledge of design standards
- Experience of control systems design using PLC
- Experience with PLC industrial automation network interfaces such as Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet
- Knowledge of DC systems would be an advantage and previous power distribution systems design desirable
- Experience of design with HV and LV electrical systems
