Lead Quant Trading hire with carte blanche to build a Market Making/Liquidity function from scratch across Decentralised Venue. This is a hands-on role for a Quant with deep expertise in algorithmic trading/MM, DeFi protocols, who will be responsible for both strategic direction and day-to-day trading operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimise automated market making strategies for decentralized exchanges, leveraging blockchain data and smart contract interactions.
- Build and maintain real-time trading algorithms that interact directly with DEX protocols, ensuring tight spreads and competitive liquidity provision.
- Analyse on-chain and off-chain market data to identify trading opportunities, manage inventory, and minimize slippage for users.
- Oversee the team’s risk management framework, including real-time monitoring of positions, exposure, and protocol-specific risks.
- Collaborate with quant researchers, developers, and other stakeholders to enhance trading systems, backtest new strategies, and integrate innovative DeFi mechanisms.
- Coordinate with external liquidity partners, other market makers, and DEX teams to ensure optimal trading conditions and respond to changing market environments.
- Provide regular performance analysis, liquidity metrics, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in quantitative trading, with hands-on experience executing algorithmic strategies on-chain and providing liquidity to CEXs or DEXs.
- Deep understanding of decentralized finance, AMM models, liquidity pools, and blockchain-based trading environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ and data analytics (SQL, R).
- Advanced quantitative and statistical modelling abilities, with a solid grasp of financial mathematics and risk management.
- Operational leadership experience, ideally in building or scaling trading teams or desks.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline).
- Self-starter mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Experience in smart contract interaction (Solidity, web3 libraries) is a plus.
