We are currently seeking a talented and driven individual to work across our busy B&Q network. You will work closely with our transport teams across our 5 B&Q sites around the UK, providing statutory and regulatory compliance, alongside technical support and assistance, to maintain the operational efficiency of our fleet of vehicles and specialised equipment. The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll work 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. However, as you’ll be supporting multiple sites and the role is both field and home based, some flexibility is essential - this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance of the fleet, resolving technical issues, troubleshooting problems, delivering value for money (cost savings) and ensuring the smooth operation of the fleet and related services.
- Review vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules, maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections and services.
- Conduct thorough vendor audits, DVSA reportable investigations and weekly/monthly fleet damage reporting.
- Communicate effectively with repairers, customers, management, and internal teams, ensuring all stakeholders are appropriately aware of developments, progress, and changes that may have any impact on the business.
- Work in conjunction with Transport Managers to achieve a reduction in vehicle damage and costs.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A technical and supervisory background in HGV vehicle maintenance and compliance, with a thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance in relation to HGV and ancillary equipment.
- A minimum of Level 3 City and Guilds Mechanical qualification or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of parts, spend cost and labour hours - this will be a large part of your role.
- A flexible approach to travelling and hours of work.
