As a Senior Bioprocess Engineer, you will work with bioreactors and bioprocess technologies, leading and managing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in cell culture bioprocess design. Your work will help advance our biotechnological processes and positively impact our company and community.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and optimize pilot-scale bioreactor processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Work closely with the bioprocess team to scale up processes effectively and monitor process performance metrics including yield, productivity, and metabolites.
- Lead or contribute to R&D projects involving media preparation, downstream processing, and large-scale production of animal cell culture.
- Collaborate with biologists, biomaterial scientists, and engineering teams to refine bioreactor designs and enhance tissue engineering capabilities.
- Apply your expertise in bioprocess scaling and cell culture to creatively influence bioreactor and bioprocess operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of safety policies, ensuring adherence to SOPs and industry standards.
- Stay current with industrial advancements, sharing insights with colleagues to keep the company at the forefront of bioprocessing innovations.
- Significant experience working with pilot-scale bioreactors, cell culture, large-scale sterile media preparation, and bioprocess scaling.
- Experience with data analysis using key bioreactor parameters and correlations.
- Hands-on operations such as CIP, SIP, COP, seed train and inoculation.
- Proven track record of managing R&D projects, solving complex problems, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
- Strong independent work ethic and ability to think creatively to design and optimize bioprocesses.
- PhD in relevant field.
- Downstream processing at pilot or industrial scale.
- Experience in cultivated meat or industrial biotechnology.
- Familiarity with GMP environments.
- Innovative and proactive in solving complex challenges.
- Organized, practical, and logical with an ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Adaptable in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and willing to 'chip in' where needed to get things done.
