KBR is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work in our Leatherhead office. As part of the electrical engineering team, you will be involved in the design, specification and services relating to Electrical engineering for projects relating to energy transition. This may be a conceptual study or front-end engineering design (FEED) or an EPC / detailed design execution involving the procurement of all equipment and detailed drawings for the construction and commissioning of an entire facility. There will be a focus within the design on cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality at all stages of the projects.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary project team, which is likely to include engineers from other specialisms including mechanical, structural, civil and instrumentation and will be responsible for liaising with clients and contractors as required. You will be involved in various project stages from concept to detailed design through to construction, testing and handover which may be offshore or onshore - greenfield or brownfield, refining, hydrogen, renewables etc.
Roles & Responsibilities- Working in a multi-disciplinary project team, which is likely to include engineers from other specialisms including mechanical, structural, civil and instrumentation, liaising with clients, vendors and contractors.
- Taking an active role in the design of electrical systems to required specifications, focusing on cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality.
- Completing tasks as allocated by the lead engineer to meet EPC deliverables.
- Creating and interpreting philosophies, design specifications, data sheets, schematics and layout drawings for oil and gas onshore and offshore installations.
- Designing systems and electrical equipment for example, HV and LV switchgear, transformers and UPS systems.
- Select and apply the relevant codes and standards applicable to the electrical systems design.
- Involved in projects from concept to detailed design through to construction, testing and handover.
- Concept / FEED / EPC Electrical Engineering experience (Energy Transition Projects).
- Interpreting technical drawings and/or creating or checking schematics or other electrical drawings.
- Managing electrical interfaces between packages including GTGs and Switchgear.
- Vendor package management (electrical and mechanical packages).
- Good working knowledge of Electrical design at 132kV to 400V.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- User of ETAP software or equivalent.
- Bachelors/Master degree in an Electrical Engineering subject with relevant industry experience.
- Chartered engineer status with a relevant professional body preferred.
- Candidates should hold the right to work in the UK as no sponsorship will be provided.
