The Care Assistant role offers homecare services to all our customers, including Health & Wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care, and companionship. The Care Assistants need to effectively maintain Audley’s objective to deliver high-quality, compassionate care that complies with CQC requirements and supports re-enablement by demonstrating Understanding, Empathy, Respect, and Warmth to our customers.

What will I do?

  • Visiting village & community customers daily, following their personal care plans, which include providing personal care and supporting with daily tasks such as getting in and out of bed, washing, bathing, dressing, assisting with mealtimes, preparing drinks, administering medication, and continence care.
  • Performing house duties like supporting fitness, health awareness programmes, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing, and other chores.
  • Supporting customers attending medical appointments, collecting prescriptions, and providing home-from-hospital assistance.
  • Encouraging customers to be as independent as possible in daily activities, including personal care and exercise.
  • Liaising with family members when required.
  • Respecting customers' rights to dignity and privacy.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Safeguarding policies and behaviours.
  • Attending relevant and compulsory training to continually improve skills and understanding.
  • Being based within the community, a driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Support from the Audley Academy for newcomers, including a full induction and assistance with the care certificate.
  • Funding for the QCF Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Good written and oral English skills.
  • Use of company mobile and app to manage schedules and communicate with the care team.
  • Ability to accurately complete electronic logs and follow medication instructions.
  • Good knowledge of the local area.
  • High standards of personal presentation and hygiene, including uniform cleanliness and adherence to company policies on jewelry, nails, and hair.
  • Effective time management and adaptability to meet customer needs.
  • Acting as a role model through excellent customer, owner, and team service.
