Read on… We are looking for a Platform Manager to join the Netflix Social Marketing team to run our Meta platforms – Instagram and Facebook – as well as co-run YouTube. With new titles launching every day, and multiple launch campaigns running concurrently, Platform Managers are responsible for setting the strategic direction of our channels. Their primary goal is increasing audience engagement and driving audience growth, ensuring our channels remain healthy spaces for us to promote all areas of the Netflix business. They’re also responsible for the smooth running of our channels. They act as airtraffic control, ensuring the right content is posted to the right channels to find the audience. They’re responsible for ensuring content is optimised for each platform, both practically but also with best-practice creative in mind. Platform Managers lead our agency team, spinning up fast-turnaround reactive content. That is a mix of reacting to external trends and responding to what we know fanbases are loving about the latest Netflix hit. They’re embedded in those fandoms, and know them inside and out. Their goals are relentless channel growth and getting people talking. They do it by testing new formats and features, knowing what makes fans tick – and what ticks them off – and creating content that fuels the fire of Netflix fandoms. Platform managers are responsible for live event coverage, whether that’s on the ground capture at a physical event like a premiere, or virtual clipping for the latest WWE event. We are seeking a highly driven, self-motivated person who lives & breathes TV and films. You are organised, an excellent communicator, and creative. You are always learning and testing new ideas. You are comfortable scrutinising your own ideas, and you are always the first to ask, “How could this have been better?” You’re excited by the idea of testing new things, changing what’s not working, and taking swings. Above all, you have an instinct for good social creative, strong platform knowledge, great ideas, and the passion, energy, and creative ambition to see it all through. Key Responsibilities Lead @NetflixUK on Facebook and Instagram. Lead on the UK contributions to global YouTube channels, including Netflix, Still Watching Netflix, and Netflix Sports. Set the strategy for the above channels, considering how they fit into the wider business strategy Manage the publishing schedule for each of the above channels Co-manage the retained reactive agency relationship – setting context, briefing them, and feeding back on their creative assets in real-time. Be a creative partner to the Title Social Managers, supporting them with reviewing creative ideas and edits for campaign assets that will run on your channels Jump into Netflix events, marketing activations, and industry events (i.e. London Film Festival, BAFTA) to support on covering them across our channels Share your knowledge of the channels and audiences with cross-functional teams. Be the expert on your audiences and platforms. Be a relentless champion of audience growth. Share your wins and fails, always seeking to maximise engagement and brand love. Keep a particularly close eye on titles that don’t have Marketing support. Sometimes under-the-radar titles pop unexpectedly, and we need to pivot in at speed. Try new things. Use the features of the platforms or habits of the audiences to create bold, exciting moments. Stay alert to social trends, with consideration for how we stay industry leading in our approach to social media. Consider other platform opportunities and how we engage fans across the internet Background And Skills 8+ years experience running social channels at a brand or publisher 8+ years experience of community management and audience development at a brand/publisher. A strong eye for creative, understanding what maakes online audiences laugh, cry, debate, and ultimately share Passion for entertainment. Deep understanding of internet culture, and the distinct demands of different social platforms. Strong local culture and consumer expertise. Experience in partnering with creatives. Ability to work cross-functionally, with the confidence to argue your point of view and sell your vision. Excellent organisational skills. Spirit of curiosity – an obsessive interest in what other brands and publishers are doing in the space.
