Job summary: Provide technical support to NHBC Claims handlers across a wide range of Technical, engineering and building surveying orientated disciplines, and advise on technical issues relating to defective residential buildings, including high-rise, to ensure that appropriate advice is given to allow efficient and accurate claims handling outcomes. Undertake defect diagnosis, set investigation strategy, and critique and advise on remedial solutions prepared by others.
What youβll be doing:
- Defect Analysis β Review technical reports, determine compliance with regulations, and advise on investigative approaches
- Causation & Resolution β Identify causes of defects and develop strategies for effective remediation
- Project Management β Oversee remedial works, ensuring proper specifications, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance
- Consultation & Oversight β Instruct and monitor external consultants, liaise with claimants and builders, and ensure technical credibility
- Training & Development β Support colleagues, contribute to policy guidance, and enhance NHBCβs technical risk management
Site visits may be required occasionally to investigate defects and oversee remedial schemes.
