Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Principal Lawyer committed to supporting clients, developing colleagues, and leading our established Property team.
HBPL is an innovative, Lexcel-accredited legal service serving local authorities, schools, and public bodies across London and the home counties. The post holder will support the development of HB Public Law alongside principal lawyers, team leaders, and assistant team leaders.
About you
This role offers the chance to be involved in large-scale regeneration projects, social, commercial, and housing property work, and governance advice around London and beyond. You will work with dedicated colleagues in a supportive environment focused on public service and community impact.
You will help lead and develop a motivated team, manage complex property matters, and undertake duties such as instruction allocation, staff supervision, appraisals, mentoring, and advising senior officers and elected members in a politically sensitive manner. You will also support strategic development and serve as a senior liaison for client relationships.
The ideal candidate will have extensive property law experience, a passion for teamwork and mentorship, and strong client care skills to foster effective relationships.
