Temporary assignment for 12 months with a possible extension.
Working directly to the Senior Practice Manager, the main purpose of the role is to provide support to the Litigation and Employment Groups' senior management team in delivering core business objectives by assisting with:
- Developing the Group's annual budget;
- Monitoring and reporting on performance against it;
- Data and performance analysis;
- Developing performance indicators and MI to inform management decisions;
- Managing the unit's reporting cycle;
- Recruitment of temporary staff.
The role includes management and leadership responsibilities, such as:
- Line managing a team of Executive Officers, including performance monitoring and capability development. Line management experience is essential.
- Managing projects and work streams within the team.
- Overseeing recruitment and onboarding of temporary staff, including attending weekly meetings with suppliers and escalating issues.
- Reviewing reports on committed spend, increasing temporary worker spend as necessary, and managing monthly timesheet reports and approval processes.
- Maintaining and reviewing PMU spreadsheets for data accuracy, highlighting discrepancies, and querying concerns.
- Monitoring staff costs monthly and reporting to the Team Lead.
- Overseeing booking and payment of external training and invoices, ensuring budget adherence and reporting spend.
- Identifying and managing risks to team objectives, clarifying roles and expectations.
- Working in a fast-paced environment, setting deadlines, and prioritising workloads.
- Engaging and communicating effectively with teams and individuals, with good written skills.
Must have team leader/management skills to be successful.
