Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Port Planner to join our London office. As part of the Planner Group, the Port Planner will be responsible for planning, analysis, and design of port cargo facilities, with a specific emphasis on container terminals, but also with an understanding of Ro-Ro, energy, breakbulk and bulk terminal operations.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Knowledge of planning, operational analysis and design development of container terminal operations and infrastructure improvements
- Ability to identify, analyze, and prepare terminal optimization plans including new container handling systems
- Familiarity with due diligence studies for new terminals, retrofit terminals and/or port systems
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments both independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to isolate key issues and draw sound conclusions
- Proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
- Proactive, enquiring approach
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels
- A European language (in addition to English) is highly desirable
- Willingness to travel is also required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Planning
- 3 to 6 years of port planning, engineering and management experience; required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Availability and willingness to travel
