In this role, you will be part of our Supply Chain Management team and support Procurement and Project teams with project-specific spend requirements. Success is achieved by delivering solutions within defined timescales, ensuring site-based team satisfaction. The role also emphasizes continuous improvement, implementing standards, and identifying new processes where appropriate.
What will you do?
- Execute Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Procurement activities according to company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
- Strengthen supplier relationships through successful account handling and support timely project delivery.
- Buying Responsibilities
- Source and purchase site materials and services, including monthly consumables.
- Obtain supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance.
- Maintain and update the Project Procurement Plan (PPP) with accurate records.
- Coordinate with the Commercial department and Financial Shared Services Center (FSSC) to facilitate procurement processes, manage purchase orders, and resolve invoice queries.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand material requirements and procurement schedules.
- Assist in onboarding new suppliers, ensuring compliance with Linxon processes and validating changes in ERP and Sourcing platforms.
- Monitor and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and obtain suppliers' monthly reports for order progress.
- Coordinate with Project teams to schedule deliveries, identify potential delays, and take corrective actions to avoid disruptions.
- Maintain accurate order status within the Project Procurement Programme (PPP) and review open purchase orders in the ERP for necessary actions.
- Liaise with site teams to confirm material receipt, issue delivery notes for timely invoice processing, and address discrepancies.
- Provide updates on order progress to other departments and participate in Monthly Project Reviews.
Education And Experience Required
- Candidates should possess a college-level education, such as A Levels (or equivalent qualification).
- Relevant experience in procurement, buying, or expediting, ideally within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in procurement software like Ariba and Oracle, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Occasional travel within the UK may be required.
