RPS, a TetraTech company, is looking for a Senior Consultant to join the Permitting & Compliance team and are able to offer this role from various UK locations.

The Team supports a range of projects including waste management, conventional and renewable energy, oil and gas and other major industrial clients. The RPS permitting team is a leading consultancy in this field and is actively supporting projects that will deliver the UK’s Net Zero commitment. We are proud to have led the market by successfully securing the first permit for a carbon capture and utilisation project in the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing applications for environmental permits, licenses and approvals from regulatory agencies – including new applications and variations to and surrender of existing permits.
- Developing environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by our Clients' environmental permits.
- Overseeing permit monitoring and reporting to the UK Regulators.
- Discharging pre-operational conditions and permit improvement condition items.
- Responding to and dealing with technical queries on projects as required and in a professional and timely manner.
- Preparing proposals with review from senior staff.
- Ensuring quality control of the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system.
- Supporting and being the potential lead role for aspects of work delivery reporting to more senior staff for approvals.
- Supporting more senior staff in the delivery of the permit and compliance team marketing strategy and business development.
Who We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in preparing permit applications.
- A good understanding of UK regulators permitting guidance and requirements.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability and confidence to build and maintain working relationships with clients, external bodies and internal teams.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Valid UK driving licence.
