General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an experienced Program Manager 3 to join our team. This individual will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing internal Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) programs from initiation to completion. Responsibilities include leading or coordinating programs, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and managing people indirectly. Monitoring performance and recommending schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions are also key duties.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage internal SRM program execution from initial planning through to mission success.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle from proposal development, including strategy, planning, writing, and submission, to successful execution.
  • Brief executive team on program status, risks, and KPIs.
  • Lead internal status updates and milestone reviews, presenting programmatic and technical material.
  • Collaborate on writing, reviewing, and delivering technical documents such as system requirements, change requests, risk plans, nonconformance reports, and data reviews.
  • Participate in business strategy discussions, understanding and communicating impacts during decision-making.
  • Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Identify, track, mitigate, and manage program-level risks and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively on quick reaction projects and maintain regular contact with customers.

  • Hold P&L responsibilities for a specific program.
  • Implement and oversee multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Ensure programs meet organizational or customer needs.
  • Participate in planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance management.
  • Promote the program within the organization and track utilization.
  • Supervise program or project staff to ensure timely and standard-compliant work.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis supporting key performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or relevant experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills in management, mentorship, communication, collaboration, detail orientation, meeting deadlines, and project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
