We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners. We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.
We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the 2024 iPhone App of the Year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. We want to grow as fast as we can into the future and are looking for individuals who will help us get there. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Now is a magical time to join, we're still small, and everyone makes a foundational difference.
About the Role: We’re looking for a junior writer with a love for running, a sharp editorial eye, and the organizational chops to help us deliver best-in-class written content, especially for our brand and race partners. This is not a social media role. You’ll spend around two-thirds of your time working closely with the Partnerships team, helping us create and deliver compelling content for our partners: from race training hubs and email copy to adapted support articles. The rest of your time will be spent supporting the Content Lead across SEO-driven support articles, product reviews, and other editorial tasks.
You’ll collaborate with coaches, marketers, and partners to make sure the right message reaches the right runner at the right time. You don’t need to be a content expert (yet!), but you do need to be a clear communicator, a confident writer, and someone who genuinely understands the running world.
What You’ll Do:
- Create & Coordinate Partner Content: Draft and adapt content for Runna’s partners (e.g. race organisers, brands) including solus emails, newsletter mentions, and custom article adaptations. Help maintain training hubs for key race and brand partners, updating copy as needed. Tailor content by region (e.g. UK/US) based on audience needs, race calendars, and tone of voice. Track engagement and share learnings with the partnerships team to refine content strategy. Help write, edit, ideate, and optimize articles for our Support Articles focused on helping runners stay informed and motivated. Research and update product reviews (e.g. top running shoes, gear guides) to reflect current trends and user needs. Ensure all content is aligned with SEO targets, search intent, and brand voice.
- Keep Us Organized: Help manage Runna’s content calendar and resource library, ensuring our articles and partner hubs are timely, tidy, and easy to access. Assist in maintaining consistency across platforms and content types. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met and partner content is delivered smoothly.
Requirements:
- A strong writer: you can switch between informative, motivating, and concise tones with ease.
- An organiser: you’re methodical, on top of tight deadlines, and comfortable managing moving parts.
- An ideas person: you’re brimming with ideas for new articles and we can deliver more meaningful content to runners and partners.
- A runner or running enthusiast: you speak the language of races, gear, and pacing naturally.
- A collaborative communicator: you’re comfortable working with different teams and gathering input from multiple voices.
- A fast learner: you’re keen to grow your editorial and strategic skills as part of a small, ambitious team.
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience writing for a fitness, wellness, or sports brand.
- Familiarity with content tools like Notion, Webflow, Intercom, or Google Analytics.
- An understanding of SEO basics and/or email marketing best practices.
We offer a salary of £31,500-£35,000 (depending on experience), plus equity in the form of Runna stock options. Overview of our benefits is below:
- Flexible working (we typically work 2-3 days in our office in Vauxhall).
- Salary reviews every 6 months or whenever we raise more investment.
- 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
- A brand new Macbook, a running watch of your choice, £300 budget to set up your desk and anything else you need to do your best work.
- Private health insurance.
- Enhanced family care policy (3 months fully paid leave when a new Runna joins the family, fertility support & other benefits).
- An hour slot each week (during work time) to do a Runna workout.
We'll be growing our package of benefits over time!
