Salary : £72,000 – £79,200 + GCO Pension, GCO Terms. Up to 15% performance-related pay available on accreditation.

The Commercial and Contract Management Directorate (CCMD) in MoJ employs around 500 professionals, manages over 1600 active contracts, and spends approximately £6bn annually with third parties. It provides procurement and contract management activities across various categories, ensuring value-for-money agreements for wider MoJ staff to source goods and services. We seek a highly experienced senior commercial leader to join our team and lead the Custodial Services category procurement within MoJ.

Job Description

The post holder will manage a multi-disciplinary team of delivery partners and external professional services, working alongside other functions including HMPPS commissioning, finance, and legal to deliver complex projects. Building on successful delivery of new operator contracts at HMP Five Wells and HMP Fosse Way, investment in outsourced operator services in Justice is pivotal for delivering new rehabilitation prison places.

This role provides commercial leadership, ensuring strategic vision is achieved and projects are delivered to high standards. Responsibilities include design, development, negotiation, procurement activity, and management through to completion and handover at award. It also involves strategic management of supplier relationships and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
