Overview

The Senior Engineer – Structural Integrity will work within the Component and Structural Integrity Integration team on developing the structural integrity requirements and guidance, and assist in their implementation across the Environment, Safety, Security and Safeguards (E3S) case.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the structural integrity case for the UK generic design of the Rolls‑Royce SMR.
  • Assist in implementation of structural integrity requirements and guidance across the business, acting as a stakeholder for work across design and throughout the lifecycle.
  • Continue the development and refinement of beyond-code requirements that meet UK expectations for highest reliability components.
  • Develop requirements for lower classification components to meet UK legislative requirements.
  • Define and refine requirements for other international regulatory regimes and expectations as required.
  • Interface with regulators as required through written communication or technical meetings.
  • Act as the point of contact for work within the defined scope, managing multiple stakeholders across functions.
  • Ensure outputs within scope are timely and of high quality through programme support, technical reviewing and checking.
  • Show appropriate leadership behaviours and advocate for the team/department.
