Booth Welsh has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Instrument Engineer to join our team! You will assist in projects across industries such as Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical, and Nuclear. As a key member of our engineering team, we are looking for a talented individual with a wide range of professional skills. The role involves working on and managing multiple projects with a focus on meeting deadlines. We offer competitive salaries and benefits for the ideal candidates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work on both project execution and proposals
  • Participate in all project phases, including Concept Studies, FEED, and Detailed Design
  • Develop Instrument Engineering deliverables for each project, reporting to the Instrument Engineering Manager
  • Assist in developing internal procedures, work instructions, and guidance notes to ensure compliance and efficient project execution
  • Support the development of young Engineers

Requirements:

  • Bring 8+ years of experience as an Instrument Engineer in the Process sector
  • Chartered status or working towards it (preferable but not essential)
  • Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (preferable but not essential)
  • Experience leading the Instrument discipline on various project sizes
  • Ability to prepare man-hour estimates for Instrument scopes based on outlined work
  • Experience controlling budgets and schedules for Instrument activities
  • Proficiency in specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of field instrumentation and analyzers
  • Experience in selecting and specifying control system hardware (PLC, DCS, SIS)
  • Knowledge of Instrument requirements for mechanical packages
  • Experience with Functional Safety, including BS EN 61511 standards, developing Safety Management Plans, participating in Safety Reviews, and SIL calculations
  • Experience with exSILentia for SIL calculations (preferable but not essential)
  • TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer qualification
  • Ability to work with hazardous area designs
  • CompEx Ex12 qualification (preferable but not essential)
  • Experience in Control Panel Design, including CE assessment/testing, ATEX certification, and FAT (preferable)
