Are you a technically-sound chartered Structural Engineer with experience in temporary works design and site support seeking a genuine career development opportunity where you will get to work on a variety of projects? We are currently looking to bring on a Principal Structural Engineer with 10+ years postgraduate UK consultancy experience to fill a permanent opening at our Redhill office. Located close to Redhill train station, our office is ideally situated close to the town’s bustling retail and leisure hubs.

Our welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Redhill, across the UK and around the world. From sustainability-focused urban regeneration schemes to cutting-edge infrastructure and transport projects and from award-winning mixed-use developments to major new residential communities, we are supporting schemes across a huge range of sectors. We have recently been successful in numerous markets including rail, private and local government amongst others, with varying fees and complexity.

Our well-established civil structures team is growing and are looking to add a capable and skilled Structural Engineer to our dynamic design office as the work continues to come in. Benefiting from a fantastic UK-wide reputation, we retain a lot of business locally and across London & the South East by offering a high quality and tailored Civil & Structural design service to a diverse client base across several sectors.

Requirements of the Principal Structural Engineer with Temporary Works experience include:

  • A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • (Ideally) Chartered by MICE or MIStructE;
  • Experienced in design, including buildability, of temporary works;
  • Experienced in workshop discussions with contractors and permanent designers;
  • Circa ten years' UK experience in temporary works design;
  • Ability to write sound technical reports;
  • Ability to self-manage and support the team;
  • Awareness to be able to manage interfaces with AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Ability and awareness of relevant Structural design software;
  • Ability to design in major building materials including RC, Steel, masonry and timber;
  • Working knowledge to ensure that design complies with BS 5975;
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes.
