Post: Consultant Microbiologist (With or Without Infectious Diseases)

Hours: Full Time 40 hpw/10 PAs

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Medical Microbiologist to join our team at NHS Dumfries & Galloway. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive team consisting of two other Consultants based at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, responsible for providing a Microbiology service and supporting the Infection Prevention and Control service. There are opportunities for a joint Microbiology/Infectious Diseases trained post holder to contribute to the Infectious Diseases service, including Infection ward based duties and Out-Patient Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) clinics.

The consultant job plan is flexible and open to negotiation on appointment. The job plan will be offered on a 10 PA contract (the balance between direct clinical care and supporting professional activities will be discussed and agreed between the Board and the successful applicant). The current Microbiology on call commitment is a 1 in 4 rota, carried out remotely with a home working package. Work can be undertaken from home and payment/time back is given for on-call duties.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway offer a full relocation package.
