Salary: £40,600 – £43,700 (depending on experience) + 6% performance bonus

Job summary: As a Building Inspector, you will be a key member of our inspection service team, collaborating with registered builders to ensure homes meet NHBC Standards and Building Regulations, while also thriving under your expert guidance. What you’ll be doing: Based from home but out and about daily, you’ll work with registered builders to ensure new homes meet NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and relevant legislation. You will build excellent relationships with site managers to identify and prevent construction defects, helping manage insurance risk and creating quality homes for buyers. You will receive full training and ongoing support. You’ll control your diary and work autonomously. Your day starts when you leave home; weekend work is not required to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

What we are looking for:

  • Significant relevant house-building or construction experience
  • Excellent listening skills, rapport-building, and relationship management
  • Ability to influence and handle disagreements assertively
  • Analytical skills to support decision-making
  • Understanding of house building processes and trade interactions
  • Physical ability to visit sites and inspect buildings, including working at heights
  • Interest in industry standards, improvements, and developments
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and delivering quality service

Education and Qualifications:

  • Construction-related qualification such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent (preferred or in progress)
  • Full Driving Licence required
