Are you looking for a firm that truly invests in junior talent? One of my top clients – a firm renowned for nurturing upcoming advocates and providing real opportunities for professional development – has an exciting opening! If you’re seeking a role where you’ll be given the time, support, and training to succeed, this is the position for you.

As a Junior Advocate, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with clients, manage cases from start to finish, and gain hands-on experience in court.

About the Role

Starting with advocacy work in areas like Infant Approval Hearings, Case Management Conferences (CMCs), applications, and directions hearings, you’ll be supported through comprehensive training and mentorship. As you grow, you’ll take on more complex hearings, such as Stage 3 hearings, OIC liability or quantum hearings, and CCMCs. Beyond courtroom representation, you’ll assist in preparing infant approval advices and may also be involved in general advice, research, analysis, and drafting as needed. Long-term, you’ll be encouraged and supported in working towards achieving Higher Rights of Audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled advocacy services for cases from within the criminal department.
  • Offer strategic advice to legal advisers and managers on court presentation.
  • Support in refining processes and documentation for case management related to court representation.
  • Identify cases where it’s commercially advantageous to settle or proceed to hearing.
  • Stay current on industry developments, including case law and legislation.
  • Excel in a target-driven environment, guiding on complex issues related to quantum, liability, and litigation.
  • Provide risk assessments and highlight potential issues to management.
  • Support additional tasks as needed to ensure high-quality service delivery.

What I am looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a passion for advocacy – experience is a plus but not essential.
  • Desire to grow and develop in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of CPR, legislation, and case law.
  • Excellent litigator with top-notch drafting skills and the ability to solve issues and offer commercially sound advice.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to achieving team and business goals.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex legal issues clearly.
  • Competent in using case management systems and proficient in MS Office.

This role is perfect for someone eager to build a career in advocacy, with the benefit of mentorship and support from a firm committed to their team’s growth. If you’re ready to make an impact and grow your career with one of the best, I’d love to hear from you!
