About the role…

As Group Merchandising & Planning Manager – Beauty, you will work alongside the Group Beauty Director & key internal stakeholders to create and deliver the omnichannel strategy for Beauty at Harvey Nichols. You will oversee the Beauty Merchandising department, helping to ensure sales and profit margin targets are met. You will lead the Merchandising team to achieve continuous business growth, successful launches, and promotional activities through optimized stock levels. You will own the budgeting process for Beauty from collation to implementation and will inform FOB decisions by providing sales and margin insights. This role includes all Own Bought beauty categories but excludes Concessions & Beauty Services. The responsibilities include:

  • Building budgets, forecasts, and reporting sales and margins, by channel, week, store, and brand.
  • Running and reviewing weekly sales and performance reports, leading performance discussions.
  • Managing stock and supply chain communication, ensuring stock optimization and risk minimization.
  • Driving sales and margin opportunities through collaboration with Buying and online teams, and developing a trading culture with stores.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams, developing talent, and representing the department in the absence of the Beauty Director.

  • Recent experience in beauty buying, marketing & merchandising.
  • Strong industry relationships.
  • Experience in omni-channel luxury retail.
  • Leadership experience in managing a team.
  • A strategic, analytical mindset with a passion for luxury beauty.
  • Results-driven and capable of interpreting financial data.
  • Problem-solving skills, resilience, adaptability, and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to implement process improvements.
