My client’s team provides a wide range of services across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on renewable energy and linear infrastructure projects, particularly in Wales and Southern UK. As an Associate Director, you will oversee major projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will play a crucial role in fostering strong client relationships and driving the continued success and growth of the business. Location – This role is flexible and can be based anywhere in the UK, with regular travel required to the project region. About the Opportunity Joining the Impact Assessment team—part of a UK-wide Environmental Management team of 80+ professionals—you will contribute to the success of key projects while shaping strategic direction. As part of the leadership team, you will manage projects in onshore wind, solar, and linear infrastructure, offering strategic and project-specific environmental guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Your passion for environmental and sustainability best practices will be critical in ensuring positive project outcomes. You will be responsible for setting strategic direction, managing resources effectively, and overseeing project budgets. Key Responsibilities Lead major projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Manage and coordinate major tenders while maintaining strong client relationships to secure future business. Communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation. Mentor and support junior colleagues, guiding them through their professional development. Ensure compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards and project management protocols. Maintain a thorough understanding of contractual conditions and their impact on project delivery. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and other deliverables. Oversee project finances, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. Ideal Candidate Profile Full Member (or Fellow) of a relevant professional institute and Chartered Environmentalist. Extensive experience in delivering consultancy services within the environmental sector. Strong expertise in project and financial management, as well as quality control. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation. Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Commitment to continuous professional development, including mentoring others.
