The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, is one of the world's most iconic hotels with a reputation for outstanding service and excellence. Your purpose will be to create a sophisticated and memorable experience for each and every guest who walks through the door. While remembering the order and serving the correct drink is important, making an emotional connection with our guests and ensuring their time in the bar is memorable is most important. You will be looking after several tables at once, talking with the guests, making recommendations if needed, as well as collaborating and clearly communicating with the host, bar, and management team to ensure a seamless five-star experience for our guests.
Learning and following our five-star standards will be a requirement and key to your success; the expectation being that you will perform to measurable targets. You will learn how to deliver five-star hospitality, and you will be trained on service sequence and standards, as well as being expected within a reasonable timescale to be confident in your knowledge of our cocktails, champagnes, wines, and food that we serve. You will attend training and learn from other team members on a daily basis as well as being coached by your leader on the job. Above all, you will be part of a great team and community that has a lot of fun and proudly gets to represent The Savoy.
What you will need to do this role:
- 1-2 years serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment
- Passion for and understanding of five-star hospitality and what it takes to deliver it
- Quick thinking, resourceful and able to solve problems 'in the moment'
- Ability to remain calm and courteous at all times
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Willing to work in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Rights to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of a POS System
- Basic knowledge of Open table
