Our Team: Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL) is a leading global provider of index solutions, offering a broad suite of industry-flagship and bespoke indices across multiple asset classes, including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Currency, Interest Rates, Multi-Asset Strategies, and Alternatives, as well as Thematics, Climate, and ESG, with full integration with the Bloomberg terminal.
As a Team Leader in Index Data and Projects, you will oversee a group of index analysts focusing on managing data for regulated benchmarks administered by BISL. You will work with varied data sets to contribute towards building a Golden Source repository of data for indices.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team responsible for the daily production processes for data acquisition and quality control.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop data assessment frameworks, management best practices, and policies.
- Work with global teams to ensure BISL meets client needs.
- Drive projects to improve, cleanse, or migrate data sets.
- Create proposals for derived data sets and overlays according to BISL benchmark methodologies.
- Oversee data onboarding, quality assurance, and compliance with UK BMR regulation.
- Design and operate BI processes to monitor data health and coordinate with data providers.
- Demonstrate domain knowledge in systematic data analysis and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of leadership experience (projects, mentoring, etc.).
- Over 3 years of experience in financial services, including exchanges or data providers.
- Knowledge of data management principles and technologies.
- Effective team management skills.
- Project management experience.
- Experience handling large, complex data sets.
- Standards and policy development experience.
- Knowledge of databases and scripting tools.
- Understanding of indices and regulation.
- Ability to translate research into technical requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Programming knowledge (e.g., Python).
