What Is the Opportunity?
At Travelers, we create trusted products and services to unlock the power of data. As a Senior Data Manager, you will influence data governance strategies, ensure data quality, and promote our data culture. You will collaborate with business partners to adopt data management policies, lead initiatives, and handle complex customer requests related to data systems.
This role offers flexibility under our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy, with three days in the office and two days remote. It is eligible for a £5000 new joiner bonus, with potential referral bonuses.
What Will You Do?
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and document action items for data deliverables.
- Manage UK stakeholders, address data concerns, and prioritize data requests.
- Support local projects and participate in data culture training.
- Coach or manage local data professionals and analysts.
- Assist with data management tasks such as reference data, data dictionaries, and data quality analysis.
- Work with IT on testing, sign-offs, and root cause analyses of data issues.
- Contribute to strategic planning and process improvements.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of data management concepts like metadata, lineage, and cataloging.
- Knowledge of data models, relationships, and business rules.
- Experience with tools and languages such as SQL, Snowflake, Teradata, MicroStrategy, Qlik Sense/View, Rally, Jira, and Confluence.
- Prior insurance industry experience, especially Lloyds or business insurance.
What Is a Must Have?
- Experience in a similar role within the Lloyds market.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant data and analytics experience.
- Intermediate SQL skills.
