You need a deep understanding of enterprise IT systems, networking, security, and cloud technologies, as you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and scalability of the infrastructure to support critical banking operations. Location: City of London Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 Employment type: Permanent This role involves a mix of technical support, BAU, and project work, set by the IT Support and Infrastructure Manager. Due to the nature of the role supporting predominantly office-based stakeholders and the benefit of on-the-job learning and mentoring, this is an office-based position. The Role Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments. Lead infrastructure projects ensuring alignment with company strategies. Manage Windows and Linux systems, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (365 & Azure). Oversee network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with banking regulations. Implement automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell, etc.) to improve operational efficiency. Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring. Provide Level 2 and 3 support, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors. Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) strategies are in place and tested. Preferred Experience Minimum three years\’ experience in IT support and customer service-focused environments. Professional manner with excellent communication skills; able to interact with all levels within the firm. Ability to work under pressure, with an analytical mindset and persistence in solving challenging problems.
