Be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimising the IT infrastructure for my prestigious financial services clients. You need a deep understanding of enterprise IT systems, networking, security, and cloud technologies, as you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and scalability of the infrastructure to support critical banking operations.

Location: City of London

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000

Employment type: Permanent

This role involves a mix of technical support, BAU, and project work, set by the IT Support and Infrastructure Manager. Due to the nature of the role supporting predominantly office-based stakeholders and the benefit of on-the-job learning and mentoring, this is an office-based position.

The Role

• Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
• Lead infrastructure projects ensuring alignment with company strategies.
• Manage Windows and Linux systems, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (365 & Azure).
• Oversee network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
• Implement automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell, etc.) to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring.
• Provide Level 2 and 3 support, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors.
• Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) strategies are in place and tested.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum three years\’ experience in IT support and customer service-focused environments.
• Professional manner with excellent communication skills; able to interact with all levels within the firm.
• Ability to work under pressure, with an analytical mindset and persistence in solving challenging problems.
• Experience in a smaller corporate environment (<500 employees).
• Technical experience with complex infrastructure spanning multiple sites, including:

• Windows Server 2016-2025
• Azure Cloud / Azure AD / SSO / MFA
• VMware (ESXi, vCenter) & Hyper-V
• Active Directory
• Group Policy and SCCM for automation
• PowerShell scripting
• Microsoft Intune Endpoint Management
• Exchange Online and Exchange Server 2019 / Hybrid
• Office365 administration
• Microsoft SCOM/SCCM
• Veeam backup solutions
• Storage solutions like NetApp
• Cisco and Fortinet firewalls
• Office Add-ins troubleshooting
• Telephone Systems (preferably Mitel)
• Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, NetScaler
• Market Data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, Fidessa, etc.)
• Disaster recovery / BCP
• SQL Server database management and administration
