Overview
MCS Group is proud to be working with a global technology-led organisation to recruit a General Counsel for their growing Belfast office. This is a senior, strategic legal position covering a broad range of responsibilities across commercial contracting, compliance, data protection, and IP. The role provides an exciting opportunity to influence legal and operational decision-making in a fast-paced, international business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracts: Lead the review, negotiation, and approval of customer, OEM, supplier, and partner contracts.
- Legal Advisory: Provide in-house legal advice across areas including employment, litigation, property leases, and corporate governance.
- Compliance & GDPR: Oversee GDPR and data privacy compliance across the organisation and support the Information Security Group.
- IP Management: Protect and manage intellectual property including trademarks, software licensing, and confidential information.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify legal risks and support senior stakeholders with pragmatic, solution-oriented advice.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor in Northern Ireland, UK, or equivalent jurisdiction.
- Extensive experience in commercial legal roles, ideally in-house.
- Strong understanding of contracts, data protection (GDPR), and intellectual property.
- Ability to manage multiple legal disciplines and work independently.
- Confident communicator with sound judgment and business acumen.
