The Director Network Partnerships - Royal Mail International is responsible for driving strategic transformation of Royal Mail's global network partnerships across existing postal partners and new commercial partners on a Worldwide basis. Royal Mail International is transforming and is building an international network that utilises the very best of what can be achieved with global postal networks, GLS (Royal Mail's sister business) in the EU and North America, and best-in-class commercial players, in order to give its customers unrivalled access to a suite of innovative service options. The successful incumbent will provide expert global knowledge of critical geographies, build effective C-level relationships with key partners, and be accountable for leading negotiations across a broad range of partners.
Reporting into the Managing Director Royal Mail International, this opportunity is based at our Head Office in Farringdon, London with a requirement for International travel. Team - currently 5 but is likely to grow. The successful candidate for this role will join us at arguably the most exciting time in our history, as you will be instrumental in enhancing Royal Mail and Parcelforce customers' global reach across 200 countries. About You
- Key Accountabilities
- Supplier Procurement and Contract Management: Be directly accountable for the profitability of key partner contracts (balancing profitability of inbound and outbound flows). Sourcing and Commercial due diligence for new partners.
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead all Board level negotiations for bi-lateral agreements ensuring best value is achieved for Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide through a combination of import and export pricing. Complete the re-negotiation of major contracts annually.
- Global Market Expertise: Build an in-depth understanding of global market dynamics and competitor activities to identify product & service gaps and new opportunities for growth within the network of partners. Deep understanding of global regulatory and competition requirements.
