Location: Blackburn, UK

Salary : £38,000 – £45,000 per annum

As part of our ongoing growth, we seek a dedicated and experienced Site Operations Manager to oversee our night shift operations, including fleet management, multi-drop deliveries, and warehouse operations.

The role

The Site Operations Manager – Night Shift will be responsible for managing the nightly operations of a fleet of 20 vehicles, coordinating 20 daily routes, and overseeing warehouse activities. This role requires strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient and effective operations. The successful candidate will work 40 hours weekly, covering five nights out of seven, including weekends, with Saturdays off.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance, scheduling, and operation of a 20-vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition and routes are efficiently planned.
• Route Coordination: Manage and coordinate 20 daily routes, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries and pickups while optimising route performance.
• Warehouse Operations: Supervise nightly warehouse activities, including inventory management, order fulfilment, and logistics coordination to ensure smooth operations.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse key performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any operational issues or disruptions promptly, maintaining continuity and minimising downtime.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operational performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
• Budget Management: Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on fleet management, logistics, and warehouse operations. Night shift management experience is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and addressing issues promptly.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer software and experience with fleet management and warehouse management software.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends, as the operational schedule requires.
• Driving: Full UK Driving License with no more than six penalty points and no endorsements.
