Role Overview
Freedom Networks is recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager – DNO to support the growth of the Networks business by increasing awareness of the organization’s capabilities and expanding our share in the DNO market. The focus will be on building strong relationships and increasing framework opportunities. Working closely with the Key Account Director and Regional Director, you will develop new business with organizations like National Grid and Western Power Distribution, and manage existing relationships to drive regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop existing customer relationships through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, maximizing value and exploring additional services.
- Engage with DNOs, especially NPg and SPEN, to ensure frameworks are in place to maximize opportunities.
- Expand relationships by proposing solutions aligned with client objectives and engaging all key stakeholders.
- Develop new markets and customers in line with the Business Development Strategy.
- Manage tenders and PQQs, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Plan and manage your business portfolio according to strategic goals.
- Promote cross-selling within Freedom/NGB and foster inter-business relationships.
- Monitor market and competitor activities, providing relevant reports.
- Represent the company at external and internal meetings to support business development.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across organizational levels.
- A proven track record of sales success in a competitive utility/contracting environment.
- Experience in opening doors and securing meetings with influential decision-makers.
- Sufficient technical knowledge of electrical substation systems and DNO regulations.
- Confidence in presenting to Senior Managers and Directors.
- Experience working with DNO organizations like National Grid or Western Power Distribution is advantageous.
Additional Desirable Skills
- DNO authorization for substation access (support available).
- Experience within DNOs or similar utility providers.
