Are you a Building Control professional looking to make a real impact in a growing, forward-thinking city? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Building Control Surveyor to lead a skilled team and help shape the future of our built environment.
About the Role:
In this pivotal leadership position, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused Building Control services. Reporting to the Team Manager - Building Regulations & Land Charges, you’ll:
- Oversee a team of surveyors and trainees across Stoke-on-Trent and partner authorities.
- Act as deputy to the Team Manager and assist in strategic development and service delivery.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including oversight of dangerous structures and high-rise building safety.
- Foster client partnerships and secure new business through expert service delivery and marketing.
- Lead on key projects and performance improvement within the North Staffordshire Building Control Partnership.
We’re looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor or equivalent professional with:
- Strong experience in Building Control, including high-rise and complex developments.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across public and private sectors.
- A strategic mindset with operational delivery expertise.
- Commitment to health & safety, equality, and continuous service improvement.
