Job Description
As part of the Assurance and Public Protection directorate, you will lead enforcement activities across the borough, ensuring compliance and providing assurance that Barnet is an engaged and effective council that protects the public purse.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee health and safety enforcement functions.
- Take proactive enforcement actions to ensure compliance.
- Lead and mentor a small, committed team.
- Work collaboratively while managing investigations independently.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous local authority enforcement experience.
- A relevant qualification such as an Environmental Health degree or IOSH certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Strong communication and investigative skills.
- Proven supervisory experience.
