Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct all stages of mechanical design from concept to completion as required by the project.
- Ensure value engineering of mechanical design.
- Ensure that technical assessments are completed, and technical issues are resolved quickly.
- Compile and issue mechanical technical submittals.
- Chair regular meetings to ensure that progress is monitored & maintained.
- Update and record progress on system trackers ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
- Review the mechanical installation with the BIM team to ensure constructability of the design.
- Take design lead on projects always promoting design excellence.
- Consult closely with other professionals, including design and construction team.
Experience and Skills:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or higher educational qualification.
- 5+ years of proven project engineering experience in mechanical building services.
- Experience in a range of digital tools including AutoCAD, AutoDesk and Microsoft packages.
- Experienced in project lead and delivery of mechanical services across multiple projects, as part of a multi-discipline design team.
- Fully conversant with technical and legislation requirements for mechanical services equipment and installation design and management.
- Capability of walking down mechanical systems to ensure compliance with specification.
- Strong communication and people skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally with an open and inclusive style.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
- Good team player with a client–focused mindset and customer facing skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
