Work Location : Belfast, United Kingdom Hours : 35 Line Of Business : Enterprise Enabling Functions Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and user-focused Experience Design Lead to join our Compliance technology team. This role will be responsible for leading UX strategy and design efforts for a suite of internal Compliance applications, ensuring a user-first approach as the platform evolves and scales. The ideal candidate will bring strong UX leadership skills, experience in user research and journey mapping, and the ability to partner closely with Product Managers, Technology teams, and Developers to deliver intuitive, configurable, and scalable solutions. The role will also contribute to strategic communications, helping articulate UX-driven visions, business cases, and platform strategies to business and technology stakeholders. Role Description User Experience Leadership Lead UX strategy and design for Compliance technology initiatives, ensuring applications are intuitive, user-centric, and aligned with workflows. Develop wireframes, journey maps, personas, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs supporting user needs and business goals. Drive research programs like Day-in-the-Life studies and user mapping exercises to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities. Define and promote UX standards, scalable design patterns, and component-driven design approaches across Compliance applications. Partner with Technology leads to support design integration with shared frameworks and component libraries. Strategic Communication & Vision Support Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to develop business cases, platform strategies, and vision narratives. Create executive presentations and storytelling materials that communicate UX insights, product vision, and the importance of user-centered design. Support strategic workshops and stakeholder sessions, visually communicating research findings, design solutions, and business impact. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnership Act as a key partner to Product and Technology teams, ensuring alignment between user needs, business requirements, and technical feasibility. Work closely with developers, including front-end engineering leads, to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of designs. Participate in agile ceremonies like sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical workshops to embed UX considerations early. Maintain and evolve UX documentation, standards, and design libraries specific to Compliance initiatives. The role also involves project management tasks such as collation of estimates, risk identification, resource forecasting, progress tracking, and stakeholder reporting, working closely with senior leadership and managing multiple initiatives. Numerous learning opportunities include planning for new initiatives, solution design, sprint planning, and project management for strategic re-platforming efforts. Candidate Requirements UX Skills Expert-level skills in user research, journey mapping, usability testing, and designing complex enterprise applications. Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or similar). Deep understanding of design systems, scalable UX practices, and accessibility standards (WCAG). Professional Skills Strong storytelling and communication skills, with experience creating executive-level presentations. Ability to translate research into actionable insights and collaborate across teams. Comfortable operating in agile environments and balancing user needs with business constraints. Experience 7+ years of UX design experience, with at least 3 years in a lead capacity. Experience in financial services, regulatory, or compliance applications is preferred but not mandatory.
