The Role:

• Conducting MOT Tests: Perform comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles (primarily Class 4, with Class 7 being advantageous), strictly adhering to the guidelines and standards set by the DVSA.
• Vehicle Inspection: Systematically inspect vehicles, identifying any defects or issues that may affect their safety or roadworthiness. This includes checks on brakes, steering, suspension, lights, tyres, emissions, and other critical components.
• Accurate Reporting: Document all test results accurately and efficiently, completing the necessary paperwork and electronic records in compliance with regulations.
• Communication: Clearly and professionally communicate test outcomes to service advisors and, when required, directly to customers, explaining any identified defects and potential repair requirements.
• Quality Standards: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to company procedures and industry best practices.
• Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the latest DVSA regulations, testing procedures, and any changes in legislation.
• Workshop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of the wider service team, contributing to a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
• Problem Solving: Utilize your diagnostic skills to identify the root cause of vehicle issues during the MOT testing process.

What We're Looking For:

• A qualified MOT Tester with a valid Nominated Tester (NT) certificate (Class 4 essential, Class 7 desirable).
• Proven experience as an MOT Tester/Technician.
• A comprehensive understanding of DVSA regulations and testing procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A full UK driving license.
