What You'll Do
As a member of BCG’s UX Center of Expertise (CoE), you will be working on user experience for Client Team portfolio products and services. You’ll be responsible for research and design through a product’s discovery phase to validation. We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Researcher & Designer to join our dynamic cross-functional team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing intuitive and engaging user experience for digital products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- User Research & Analysis: Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points. Develop insights that inform and evaluate design recommendations, ensuring they are grounded in evidence and aligned with business objectives. Analyze user feedback and usage data to inform design decisions.
- Prototyping & Design Execution: Create the necessary assets to evaluate product design recommendations, including low-fidelity conceptual prototypes and high-fidelity designs and interaction flows. Work closely with Client Team Product Portfolio Lead & Product Owners, developers, and Client Team stakeholders to ensure seamless handoffs and execution of design solutions. Contribute to our design systems which enhance consistency and scalability across platforms.
- Collaboration: Foster strong, trust-based relationships across Client Team and leadership to advocate for evidence-led and user-centred design. Work collaboratively with engineering, product management, data analytics, and business stakeholders to drive a holistic product vision across multiple products and platforms. Act as a thought leader elevating design maturity across the organization. Engage with senior leadership, showcasing UX work and evidencing the contributions your research and design work have made to the team’s broader strategic initiatives.
- Testing & Iteration: Conduct Usability Testing and gather feedback to refine and improve designs. Iterate on designs based on user feedback and analytics to enhance the user experience.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies. Advocate for and implement best practices in user-centred design and Lean UX.
What You'll Bring
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of commercial experience in Research & Design preferably in a large, global enterprise. Proven experience in research and analysis to create actionable insights. Expertise in user research methodologies, data-informed design, and customer experience strategy. Practical knowledge of iterative design methods and processes that follow a Lean UX approach. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and other prototyping tools. Comfortable leading UX workstreams in large global teams across multiple time zones, collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders. Proficient in operating across all stages of the design lifecycle from product discovery to delivery. Practical knowledge of working within product software development team with a deep understanding of agile, scrum and design thinking.
Skills: Expertise in mixed methods across generative and evaluative research, including surveys, interviews and usability testing using tools such as Dovetail, Maze and UserTesting.com. Expertise in user journey mapping, needs and sentiment analysis. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Suite. Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Comprehensive understanding of usability and accessibility standards across web, mobile and responsive platforms.
